أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو أَحْمَدَ بْنُ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ الدَّارِمِيُّ، أنبأ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيَّبِ، أنبأ إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ شَاهِينٍ، أنبأ خَالِدٌ، عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ، عَنِ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُغَفَّلٍ الْمُزَنِيِّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " بَيْنَ كُلِّ أَذَانَيْنِ صَلَاةٌ ثَلَاثًا لِمَنْ شَاءَ " رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ، عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ شَاهِينٍ، وَرَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ مِنْ وَجْهٍ آخَرَ، عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mughaffal al-Muzani (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Between every two calls there is a prayer." He said these words three times, "for whoever wishes."
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَمْرٍو الْأَدِيبُ، أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْإِسْمَاعِيلِيُّ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، أنبأ مُحَمَّدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ جَعْفَرٍ، أنبأ شُعْبَةُ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَمْرَو بْنَ عَامِرٍ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: " إِنْ كَانَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ إِذَا أَذَّنَ قَامَ نَاسٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَيَبْتَدِرُونَ السَّوَارِيَ يُصَلُّونَ حَتَّى يَخْرُجَ عَلَيْهِمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَهُمْ كَذَلِكَ يُصَلُّونَ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الْمَغْرِبِ، وَلَمْ يَكُنْ بَيْنَ الْأَذَانِ وَالْإِقَامَةِ شَيْءٌ " رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ بَشَّارٍ، وَرَوَاهُ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، فَقَالَ: وَكَانَ بَيْنَ الْأَذَانِ وَالْإِقَامَةِ قَرِيبٌ، يَعْنِي بِهِ فِي صَلَاةِ الْمَغْرِبِ.
(a) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the mu'adhdhin called the adhan, the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would hurry toward the pillars to pray behind them, until the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came out. The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) would also pray two rak'ahs before Maghrib, and there was nothing between the adhan and the iqamah.

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ الْفَقِيهُ، وَأَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السُّلَمِيُّ، وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو قَالُوا: أنبأ أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ أنبأ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْوَرَّاقُ وَلَقَبُهُ حَمْدَانُ، أنبأ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، أنبأ عَبْدُ الْمُنْعِمِ خَتَنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ فَائِدٍ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، وَعَطَاءٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لِبِلَالٍ: " يَا بِلَالُ اجْعَلْ بَيْنَ أَذَانِكَ وَإِقَامَتِكَ بِقَدْرِ مَا يَفْرُغُ الْآكِلُ مِنْ أَكْلِهِ، وَالشَّارِبُ مِنْ شُرْبِهِ، وَالْمُعْتَصِرُ مِنْ حَاجَتِهِ، وَلَا تَقُومُوا حَتَّى تَرَوْنِي " فِي إِسْنَادِهِ نَظَرٌ.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him): "O Bilal! Leave between your adhan and your iqamah a gap as long as it takes one who is eating to finish his food, one who is drinking to finish his drink, and one who needs to relieve himself to finish his need; and do not stand up until you see me."
