Bayhaqi 934 — The recommendation not to use less than a mudd
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عُمَرَ الْمُقْرِئُ بِبَغْدَادَ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَلْمَانَ الْفَقِيهُ، ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ شَاكِرٍ، ثنا عَفَّانُ، ثنا أَبَانُ، ثنا قَتَادَةُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَتْنِي صَفِيَّةُ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يَتَوَضَّأُ بِالْمُدِّ وَيَغْتَسِلُ بِالصَّاعِ ".
Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform ablution with one mudd and bathe with one sa'.
