أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو، قَالَا: ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا هَارُونُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، عَنْ بَكَّارِ بْنِ يَحْيَى، عَنْ جَدَّتِهِ، قَالَتْ: دَخَلْتُ عَلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ، قَالَتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ: " وَأَمَّا الْمُمْتَشِطَةُ فَكَانَتْ إِحْدَانَا تَكُونُ مُمْتَشِطَةً، فَإِذَا اغْتَسَلَتْ لَمْ تَنْقُضْ ذَلِكَ، وَلَكِنَّهَا تَحْفِنُ عَلَى رَأْسِهَا ثَلَاثَ حَفَنَاتٍ، فَإِذَا رَأَتِ الْبَلَلَ عَلَى أُصُولِ الشَّعْرِ دَلَكَتْهُ، ثُمَّ أَفَاضَتْ عَلَى سَائِرِ جَسَدِهَا ".
Bakkar bin Yahya narrates from his grandmother, who said: I went to Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her); then she narrated a long hadith. Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "When one of us took the ritual bath while her hair was combed (and plaited), she would not undo it, but would pour three handfuls of water over her head. When she saw the moisture at the roots of the hair, she would rub it, then pour water over the rest of her body."
