Nafi' (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) used to fast continuously before he died. Nafi' said: And Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) also fasted continuously in the last part of his life.
