Humayd narrates that in the year Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) died, he was unable to fast, and he knew that he would not be able to make it up either. So I asked his son Umar: What did Abu Hamzah (may Allah be pleased with him) do? He said: A tub of bread and meat was prepared, and we fed that number of poor people or more, meaning thirty men, one man for each day.
