أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ بْنُ عَبْدَانَ، أنبأ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، ثنا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا ابْنُ كَثِيرٍ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: كُنَّا نَتَحَدَّثُ أَنَّ الْيَدَ الْعُلْيَا هِيَ الْمُنْفِقَةُ.
Abdullah bin Dinar (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: We used to talk among ourselves that "the upper hand is the one that spends."
