Bayhaqi 7869 — The virtue of refraining from asking and being

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever is struck by want and takes it to people, they cannot relieve his want; and whoever turns to Allah, it is near that Allah Almighty will make him self-sufficient, either through a speedy death or through speedy wealth."
