Bayhaqi 7864 — The virtue of refraining from asking and being

Hisham bin Urwah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from his father, and he from his grandfather (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "That one of you takes his rope, goes out to the mountains, carries a bundle of firewood back on his back, then sells it and meets his need with it, is better for him than begging from people, whether they give him or refuse him."
