Bayhaqi 7834 — The virtue of the charity of one who is healthy

وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ فُورَكٍ، أنبأ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ، ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، ثنا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ أَبِي حَبِيبَةَ الطَّائِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " مَثَلُ الَّذِي يَتَصَدَّقُ أَوْ يُعْتِقُ عِنْدَ الْمَوْتِ مَثَلُ الَّذِي يُهْدِي بَعْدَ مَا يَشْبَعُ ".
Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The example of one who gives charity or frees (a slave) at the time of death is like one who gives (a gift) after he has eaten his fill."
