It is narrated from Abu Waqid al-Laythi (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to Madinah, the people used to cut off the humps of camels and cut the fat tails of sheep. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whatever part of a living animal is cut off while it is alive is carcass (eating it is forbidden)."
(b) Some of our companions have used this as evidence.
