Sayyiduna Adi bin Amirah al-Kindi (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever of you we appoint over a task of ours (zakah), and he conceals from it a needle or anything like it, that will be misappropriation (ghulul), and he will bring it on the Day of Resurrection." He said: A dark-skinned man from the Ansar stood up, as if I am looking at him now, and said: "O Messenger of Allah! Take back my task from me." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What is the matter with you?" He said: "I heard what I heard." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "And I say it again now: whoever of you we appoint over a task, let him bring all of it, little or much; what he is ordered to take he should take, and what he is forbidden from he should refrain from."
