وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الْمِهْرَجَانِيُّ، أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ثنا ابْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، ثنا مَالِكٌ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ بَعْضَ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ يَقُولُونَ فِي الرِّكَازِ: " إِنَّمَا هُوَ دَفْنُ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ مَا لَمْ يُطْلَبْ بِمَالٍ وَلَمْ يُكَلَّفْ فِيهِ كَبِيرُ عَملٍ، فَأَمَّا مَا طُلِبَ بِمَالٍ أَوْ كُلِّفَ فِيهِ كَبِيرُ عَمَلٍ فَأُصِيبَ مَرَّةً وَأُخْطِئَ مَرَّةً فَلَيْسَ بِرِكَازٍ " وَرَوَى أَبُو دَاوُدَ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ الْعَوَّامِ عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ: " الرِّكَازُ الْكَنْزُ الْعَادِي ". وَسَقَطَ ذَلِكَ مِنْ كِتَابِي.
Ibn Bukayr (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from Imam Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) that he heard some scholars say: "Rikaz is the buried treasure of the Jahiliyyah which has not been sought by spending wealth, and for which no great labour has been undertaken. But whatever is sought by spending wealth, or for which great labour is undertaken, so that sometimes it is found and sometimes it is missed, that is not rikaz."
