Abu Ghutayf al-Hudhali says: I was with Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) when the call to prayer was given for Zuhr; he performed ablution and prayed. When the call to prayer was given for Asr, he performed (a fresh) ablution. I said to him: Why did you perform ablution again? He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say: "Whoever performs ablution while in a state of purity (ablution), Allah Almighty records ten good deeds for him."
(b) Imam Abu Dawud says that the hadith of Musaddad is more complete, but in my view the hadith of Ibn Yahya is more precise.
(c) The Shaykh says that Abd al-Rahman bin Ziyad al-Ifriqi is not strong.
