Bayhaqi 7476 — Zakah is due on what people cultivate and which dries

Ata' bin al-Sa'ib (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Musa bin al-Mughirah wanted to take zakah (the tithe) on the vegetables of Musa bin Talhah's (may Allah have mercy on him) land. He said: "There is no tithe on vegetables." He narrated this from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and it was written to al-Hajjaj, and al-Hajjaj wrote back that Musa bin Talhah knows better than Musa bin al-Mughirah.
