أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مَنْصُورٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ نُوحٍ مِنْ أَوْلَادِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ النَّخَعِيِّ بِالْكُوفَةِ أنبأ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ دُحَيْمٍ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَازِمِ بْنِ أَبِي غَرَزَةَ، أنبأ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ أَبِي رَجَاءٍ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ وَاقِدٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ قَالَ: " كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي جِنَازَةٍ؛ فَلَمَّا انْتَهَيْنَا إِلَى الْقَبْرِ حَثَا عَلَى الْقَبْرِ فَاسْتَدَرْتُ فَاسْتَقْبَلْتُهُ؛ فَبَكَى حَتَّى بَلَّ الثَّرَى، ثُمَّ قَالَ: " إِخْوَانِي، لِمِثْلِ هَذَا الْيَوْمِ فَأَعِدُّوا ".
Sayyiduna al-Bara' bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We were with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) at a funeral. When we reached the grave, he (peace and blessings be upon him) scattered dust onto the grave. So I went around and came in front of him, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) wept (so much) that the soil became wet. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O my brothers, the same matter is (to happen to us), so prepare for it."
