Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), (his (peace and blessings be upon him) wife), narrates: I never saw him (peace and blessings be upon him) laughing heartily so that even his back teeth could be seen; he (peace and blessings be upon him) would only smile. And she said: Whenever he (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a cloud or a wind, it could be perceived in his (peace and blessings be upon him) face. So I said: O Messenger of Allah! When people see a cloud they rejoice in the hope that it will bring rain, yet I see that when you (peace and blessings be upon him) see (a cloud), dislike is apparent on your face? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What can make me feel safe that there is no punishment in it, when nations were punished with wind, and likewise a people saw the punishment." Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse: "Then when they saw it as a cloud approaching their valleys, they said: This is a cloud bringing us rain" [Surah al-Ahqaf: 24].
