Abd al-Rahman bin Sa'd bin Ammar bin Sa'd, the muezzin of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), says: My father narrated to me from his forefathers that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went out to the Eid, he would go by the house of Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) and past the people of the tents. Then he would perform the prayer before the sermon. Then he would return by the other route, that is, by way of Banu Zurayq. Then at the edge of al-Riqaq he would slaughter his sacrificial animal with his own hand, using a blade. Then he would go past the houses of Ammar bin Yasir and Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with them both) towards the place called al-Balat.
