(a) Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray two rak'ahs for Eid al-Fitr, and would not pray before or after it. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) came to the women, and Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) was with him; he commanded them to give charity, and the women were taking off their earrings and throwing them in.
(b) Some said in the hadith: on the day of Eid al-Adha or Eid al-Fitr.
