Abdullah bin Buraydah narrates from his father (may Allah be pleased with him): "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would go out on the day of Eid al-Fitr after eating food, and on the day of Eid al-Adha he would not eat until he had slaughtered his sacrifice." In the narration of Abu Asim it says: "until he returned."
