Bayhaqi 5545 — Combining two prayers in rain

Sa'id bin Jubayr narrates from Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed Zuhr and Asr combined in Madinah, without any fear or journey. Abu al-Zubayr said: I asked Sa'id: Why did he (peace and blessings be upon him) do that? He said: I too asked Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) just as you have asked me, and he said: His (peace and blessings be upon him) intention was that no one of his Ummah should be put to hardship.
