Bayhaqi 541 — Reports on the prohibition of cleaning oneself

Abd al-Rahman bin Abd al-Wahid said: I heard Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) say that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Clean yourselves with three stones, and clean with earth when one does not find a stone; and a thing with which one has cleaned oneself once should not be used for cleaning again."
Uthman al-Tara'ifi has been criticised, and he narrates from unknown people. And Allah knows best. It has also been narrated by another route from Anas, and it is not authentic.
