وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ، ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ، أَنَّ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ " كَانَ يُوضَعُ لَهُ الْمَاءُ وَالْأُشْنَانُ يَعْنِي لِلِاسْتِنْجَاءِ ".
It is narrated from Anas bin Sirin that water and ushnan (a soap-like plant) used to be placed for Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), that is, for cleaning himself after relieving himself.
