أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو، ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدٌ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ الْحَارِثِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ مِغْوَلٍ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ، ح وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ فُورَكٍ، أنبأ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ، ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، ثنا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنَ مُصَرِّفٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَوْسَجَةَ يُحَدِّثُ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَأْتِينَا إِذَا قُمْنَا إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ فَيَمْسَحُ عَوَاتِقَنَا وَصُدُورَنَا وَيَقُولُ: " لَا تَخْتَلِفُوا فَتَخْتَلِفَ قُلُوبُكُمْ، إِنَّ اللهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى الصَّفِّ الْأَوَّلِ، أَوْ قَالَ: الصُّفُوفِ الْأُوَلِ ".
Sayyiduna Bara' bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would come to us when we stood up for prayer, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) would touch our shoulders and chests and say: "Do not differ, or your hearts will come to differ. Allah sends down mercy upon those in the first row, and the angels pray for mercy for them," or he said: "for the first rows."
