Bayhaqi 5116 — The leading of prayer by a blind man

Sayyiduna Mahmud bin al-Rabi' al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) says that Sayyiduna Itban bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) was one of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) who took part in Badr from among the Ansar. He came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah! I am blind, and I lead my people in prayer. When it rains, the valley floods and it becomes a barrier between the mosque and my house, and I cannot lead them in prayer. O Messenger of Allah! I wish that you would come to my house and pray there."
