أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ، أنبأ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ الطُّوسِيُّ، أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْحَنَفِيُّ، ثنا الضَّحَّاكُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ قَالَ: " كُنْتُ مَعَ أَبِي فِي زَمَانِ ابْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ إِلَى جَنْبِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، فَقَالَ عَبَّادُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ: إِنَّا سَمِعْنَا أَنَّهُ يُبْدَأُ بِالْعَشَاءِ قَبْلَ الصَّلَاةِ، فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ: " وَيْحَكَ، مَا كَانَ عَشَاؤُهُمْ، أَتَرَاهُ كَانَ مِثْلَ عَشَاءِ أَبِيكَ؟ ".
Abdullah bin Ubayd bin Umayr (may Allah have mercy on him) said: In the time of Ibn al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with them both), I was with my father beside Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both). Abbad bin Abdullah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah have mercy on him) said: We have heard that they used to begin with the evening meal before the prayer. Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "Woe to you! What was their evening meal? Do you think it was like your father's evening meal?"
