أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ الْفَقِيهُ، أنبأ عَبْدُوسُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ السِّمْسَارُ، ثنا أَبُو حَاتِمٍ، ثنا الْأَنْصَارِيُّ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي حُمَيْدٌ قَالَ: " كُنَّا عِنْدَ أَنَسٍ فَأَذَّنَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ بِالْمَغْرِبِ وَقَدْ حَضَرَ الْعَشَاءُ، فَقَالَ أَنَسٌ: " ابْدَءُوا بِالْعَشَاءِ ". فَتَعَشَّيْنَا مَعَهُ ثُمَّ صَلَّيْنَا، وَكَانَ عَشَاؤُهُ خَفِيفًا ".
Humayd said: We were with Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) when the caller gave the adhan for Maghrib and the meal had also been brought. Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Begin with the meal." So we ate, then we prayed; and his evening meal used to be light.
