أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْمُقْرِئُ، أنبأ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ الْمَكِّيُّ، ثنا حَاتِمُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ مُجَاهِدٍ أَبِي حَزْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي عَتِيقٍ، كَذَا قَالَ وَهُوَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَبِي عَتِيقٍ قَالَ: تَحَدَّثْتُ أَنَا وَالْقَاسِمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عِنْدَ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا حَدِيثًا، وَكَانَ الْقَاسِمُ رَجُلًا لَحَّانَةً وَكَانَ لِأُمِّ وَلَدٍ، فَقَالَتْ لَهُ عَائِشَةُ: " مَا لَكَ لَا تَتَحَدَّثُ كَمَا يَتَحَدَّثُ ابْنُ أَخِي هَذَا؟ أَمَا أَنِّي قَدْ عَلِمْتُ مِنْ أَيْنَ أَتَيْتَ، هَذَا أَدَّبَتْهُ أُمُّهُ، وَأَنْتَ أَدَّبَتْكَ أُمُّكَ "، قَالَ: فَغَضِبَ الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ وَأَضَبَّ عَلَيْهَا، فَلَمَّا رَأَى مَائِدَةَ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا قَدْ أُتِيَ بِهَا قَامَ، فَقَالَتْ: أَيْنَ؟ قَالَ: أُصَلِّي، قَالَتْ: اجْلِسْ، قَالَ: إِنِّي أُصَلِّي، قَالَتْ: اجْلِسْ غُدَرُ، إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " لَا صَلَاةَ بِحَضْرَةِ الطَّعَامِ، وَلَا وَهُوَ يُدَافِعُهُ الْأَخْبَثَانِ ". رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبَّادٍ وَقَالَ: عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عَتِيقٍ.
Abdullah bin Abi Atiq said: Al-Qasim bin Muhammad and I were talking in the presence of Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her). Al-Qasim bin Muhammad made many grammatical mistakes in his speech, and he was the son of a slave mother (umm walad). Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "O Qasim, why do you not speak the way this nephew of mine speaks? I know where you got it from: this one was brought up by his mother, and you were brought up by your mother." Abdullah said: Al-Qasim bin Muhammad became angry and harboured resentment against her. When he saw that the food tray of Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) had been brought, he stood up. Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) asked: "Where (are you going)?" Al-Qasim said: "I want to pray." Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "Sit down." He said: "I want to pray." Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "Sit down, you treacherous one! I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'There is no prayer in the presence of food, nor while one is holding back urine and stool.'"
