أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُقْرِئُ، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، ثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ الزَّهْرَانِيُّ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ جَعْفَرٍ. وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو النَّضْرِ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ نُعَيْمٍ، ثنا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " أَلَا أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى مَا يَمْحُو اللهُ بِهِ الْخَطَايَا وَيَرْفَعُ بِهِ الدَّرَجَاتِ؟ " قَالُوا: بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ: " إِسْبَاغُ الْوُضُوءِ عَلَى الْمَكَارِهِ، وَكَثْرَةُ الْخُطَا إِلَى الْمَسَاجِدِ، وَانْتِظَارُ الصَّلَاةِ بَعْدَ الصَّلَاةِ، فَذَلِكُمُ الرِّبَاطُ ". رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ قُتَيْبَةَ وَغَيْرِهِ.
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shall I not tell you of the deed by which sins are erased and ranks are raised?" They said: Of course, O Messenger of Allah! He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Performing ablution thoroughly at times of hardship, walking to the mosques, that is, taking many steps, and waiting for the next prayer after a prayer; this is ribat (guarding the frontier)."
