أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الصَّغَانِيُّ، ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، ح قَالَ: وَأَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، ثنا هَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ: قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ: أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ كَانَ يَقُولُ: " مَنْ صَلَّى مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَلْيَجْعَلْ آخِرَ صَلَاتِهِ وِتْرًا قَبْلَ الصُّبْحِ، كَذَلِكَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَأْمُرُهُمْ ". رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ، عَنْ هَارُونَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ.
Nafi' narrates from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both): "Whoever prays at night, let him make witr the last of his night prayer, before the morning." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to command (them) in this way.
