It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah al-Sunabihi (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When the sun rises, the devil is with it; when the sun has risen high, the devil separates from it; then at midday the devil joins it; when the sun passes the meridian, the devil separates from it; when the sun nears setting, the devil joins it again; and when the sun sets, he separates from it." He (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade praying at these times.
Malik bin Anas narrated it thus, and Ma'mar bin Rashid narrated it from Zayd bin Aslam, from Ata, from Abu Abdullah al-Sunabihi. Abu Isa al-Tirmidhi said: The correct version is the narration of Ma'mar; he is Abu Abdullah al-Sunabihi, and his name is Abd al-Rahman bin Usaylah.
