أنبأ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْفَقِيهُ، أنبأ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، أنبأ أَبُو دَاوُدَ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْمَجِيدِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ أَبِي رَوَّادٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ حَنْطَبٍ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " عُرِضَتْ عَلَيَّ أُجُورُ أُمَّتِي حَتَّى الْقَذَاةُ يُخْرِجُهَا الرَّجُلُ مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ، وَعُرِضَتْ عَلَيَّ ذُنُوبُ أُمَّتِي فَلَمْ أَرَ ذَنْبًا أَعْظَمَ مِنْ سُورَةٍ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ، وَآيَةٍ أُوتِيهَا رَجُلٌ ثُمَّ نَسِيَهَا " وَرَوَاهُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ الْوَرَّاقِ.
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The rewards of my Ummah were presented to me, even the reward of someone removing a speck of straw from the mosque. The sins of my Ummah were also presented to me, and the greatest sin was memorising a surah or a verse of the Qur'an and then forgetting it."
