Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah bin Hudayj (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I prayed the Maghrib prayer with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him); he forgot and gave the salam after two rak'ahs. Then he got up and left, and a man said: O Messenger of Allah! You have forgotten; you gave the salam after two rak'ahs. So he ordered Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) to call the iqamah for the prayer, and then he completed that rak'ah. I asked the people about the man who had said to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he had forgotten, and I was told: Do you know him? I said: No, but if I see him I can recognise him. One day that man passed by me, and I said: Here is that man! They said: This is Sayyiduna Talhah bin Ubaydullah (may Allah be pleased with him).
