أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْقَاضِي، وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو قَالَا: ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الدُّورِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ الْمَكِّيُّ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: كُنْتُ أُذَاكِرُ عُمَرَ شَيْئًا مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ فَأَتَى عَلَيْنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْفٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، فَقَالَ: أَلَا أُحَدِّثُكُمْ حَدِيثًا سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟ قُلْنَا: بَلَى قَالَ: أَشْهَدُ شَهَادَةَ اللهِ لَسَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " إِذَا كَانَ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي شَكٍّ مِنَ النُّقْصَانِ فِي صَلَاتِهِ فَلْيُصَلِّ حَتَّى يَكُونَ فِي شَكٍّ مِنَ الزِّيَادَةِ " وَكَذَلِكَ رَوَاهُ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ الْمَكِّيِّ وَرَوَاهُ ⦗٤٧١⦘ أَيْضًا بَقِيَّةُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، عَنْ بَحْرِ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ السَّقَّاءِ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ وَكَذَلِكَ رُوِيَ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that we were discussing some matter of the prayer with Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) when Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) came to us and said: "Shall I not narrate to you a hadith that I heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)?" We said: Certainly! Please do. He said: I bear witness that I certainly heard this hadith from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): "When one of you has a doubt about falling short in his prayer, let him pray in such a way that his doubt becomes about excess."
