Bayhaqi 3707 — One who said there are eleven prostrations

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says that there is no prostration in the Mufassal surahs. The narrator says: I met Abu Ubaydah (may Allah have mercy on him) and mentioned to him the statement of Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), and he said that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prostrated, and the believers and the polytheists also prostrated, in Surah al-Najm, and we have continued to prostrate (in it) ever since.
