(a) Through another chain, al-Walid bin Muslim narrated a similar report, but he did not mention Isha; rather he said: He (peace and blessings be upon him) recited qunut in a prayer for a month, when he said 'Sami'a Allahu liman hamidah', and then he would say the following in his qunut.
(b) Harb bin Shaddad transmitted, via Yahya bin Abi Kathir, a narration with the meaning of al-Awza'i's narration, and at its end it says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) kept supplicating for them until Allah rescued them; then he (peace and blessings be upon him) stopped supplicating for them. In another narration transmitted from Harb it says that Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) said to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): O Messenger of Allah, why is it that you no longer supplicate for those people? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you not know that they have been rescued?"
