أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ الْفَقِيهُ، أنبأ أَبُو الْفَضْلِ عَبْدُوسُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ مَنْصُورٍ، ثنا أَبُو حَاتِمٍ الرَّازِيُّ، ثنا الْأَنْصَارِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي حُمَيْدٌ الطَّوِيلُ قَالَ: سُئِلَ أَنَسٌ أَتَّخَذَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَاتَمًا؟ فَقَالَ: " نَعَمْ أَخَّرَ لَيْلَةً صَلَاةَ الْعِشَاءِ الْآخِرَةِ إِلَى قَرِيبٍ مِنْ شَطْرِ اللَّيْلِ، فَلَمَّا صَلَّى أَقْبَلَ إِلَيْنَا بِوَجْهِهِ، فَقَالَ: " إِنَّ النَّاسَ قَدْ صَلُّوا وَنَامُوا، وَلَمْ تَزَالُوا فِي صَلَاةٍ مَا انْتَظَرْتُمُوهَا " قَالَ أَنَسٌ: فَكَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى وَبِيضِ خَاتَمِهِ أَخْرَجَهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ، مِنْ حَدِيثِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ هَارُونَ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ كَمَا مَضَى ذِكْرُهُ.
Humayd al-Tawil (may Allah have mercy on him) says that someone asked Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him): Did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) keep a ring? He said: Yes! One night the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) delayed the Isha prayer until close to midnight. Then, when he (peace and blessings be upon him) had led the prayer, after the prayer he turned towards us and said: "The people have prayed and gone to sleep, but as long as you were waiting for the prayer, you remained in prayer." Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) says: It is as if I can still see the gleam of his (peace and blessings be upon him) ring.
