Bayhaqi 286 — Wiping the head is obligatory even when wearing a turban

It is reported from Nafi' (may Allah have mercy on him) that he saw Safiyyah bint Abi Ubayd (may Allah have mercy on her), the wife of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), take off her head covering and then wipe her head with water. Nafi' (may Allah have mercy on him) was a child at that time.
