أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ الْفَقِيهُ، ثنا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ، أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ الْعُطَارِدِيُّ، ثنا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: " أَمَرَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِثَلَاثٍ وَنَهَانِي عَنْ ثَلَاثٍ، أَمَرَنِي بِصِيَامِ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ مِنْ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ، وَأَنْ لَا أَنَامَ إِلَّا عَلَى وِتْرٍ، وَرَكْعَتَيِ الضُّحَى، وَنَهَانِي عَنِ الِالْتِفَاتِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ الْتِفَاتَ الثَّعْلَبِ، وَأُقْعِي إِقْعَاءَ الْقِرْدِ، وَأَنْقُرُ نَقْرَ الدِّيكِ ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him): "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded me to do three things and forbade me from three things. He (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded me to fast three days every month, to sleep only after praying witr, and to pray the two rak'ahs of Duha (forenoon prayer); and he forbade me from glancing around in prayer like a fox, sitting like a monkey, and pecking like a rooster."
