Bayhaqi 274 — Taking care to include the temples when wiping the head

It is narrated from Sayyidah Rubayyi' bint Mu'awwidh (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performing ablution, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) wiped in this way: he wiped the front and back parts of his head, wiped his temples (the hair at them), and wiped the outer and inner parts of his ears and the roots of them.
