قَالَ: وَثنا مَالِكٌ، أَنَّهُ بَلَغَهُ أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ كَانَ يَقُولُ: " مَنْ أَدْرَكَ الرَّكْعَةَ فَقَدْ أَدْرَكَ السَّجْدَةَ، وَمَنْ فَاتَتْهُ قِرَاءَةُ أُمِّ الْقُرْآنِ فَقَدْ فَاتَهُ خَيْرٌ كَثِيرٌ ".
The Shaykh said that Imam Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) said that Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say: Whoever catches the bowing (ruku') has caught the rak'ah, and whoever misses Surah al-Fatihah has missed a great deal of good.
