أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أنبأ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الصَّفَّارُ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، ثنا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ الْحَكَمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو بِشْرٍ شُعَيْبُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ الزُّهْرِيِّ، أَخْبَرَنِي سَالِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " إِذَا افْتَتَحَ التَّكْبِيرَ لِلصَّلَاةِ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ حِينَ يُكَبِّرُ حَتَّى يَجْعَلَهُمَا حِذَاءَ مَنْكِبَيْهِ، ثُمَّ إِذَا كَبَّرَ لِلرُّكُوعِ فَعَلَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ، ثُمَّ إِذَا قَالَ: سَمِعَ اللهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ فَعَلَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ وَقَالَ: رَبَّنَا وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ، وَلَا يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ حِينَ يَسْجُدُ " رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ، عَنْ أَبِي الْيَمَانِ.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both): I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). When he (peace and blessings be upon him) began the prayer, he said the takbir and also raised his hands until he brought his hands level with his shoulders. Then when he bowed, he did the same. Then when he said 'Sami' Allahu liman hamidah' (Allah hears the one who praises Him), he also did the same, and he said 'Rabbana wa lakal-hamd' (Our Lord, and to You belongs all praise). He did not raise his hands like this in the prostrations.
