Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) began the prayer, he would say: 'Subhanaka Allahumma wa bihamdika, wa tabaraka ismuka, wa ta'ala jadduka, wa la ilaha ghayruk' (You are free of all imperfection, O Allah, and praise is Yours; Your name is blessed, Your majesty is exalted, and there is no true god besides You).
"I have turned myself, with sincere devotion, towards the One who created the heavens and the earths, and I am not of the polytheists [Surah al-An'am: 79]. Indeed, my prayer, my sacrifice, my living and my dying are for Allah, who is the Lord of all the worlds; He has no partner [Surah al-An'am: 162-163]."
