(a) It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) began the prayer, he would recite: 'Subhanaka Allahumma wa bihamdika, wa tabaraka ismuka, wa ta'ala jadduka, wa la ilaha ghayruk' (You are free of all imperfection, O Allah, and with Your praise (I remember You); Your name is blessed, Your majesty is exalted, and there is no true god besides You).
Abu Dawud al-Sijistani said: This hadith is not well known from Abd al-Salam bin Harb; only Talq bin Ghannam narrated it, and a group narrated the account of the prayer from Budayl without mentioning anything of this in it. It has also been narrated from Aishah through another, weak, route.
