Talhah narrates from his father, from his grandfather (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while he (peace and blessings be upon him) was performing ablution, and the water was flowing from his (peace and blessings be upon him) face onto his beard and chest. I saw that he (peace and blessings be upon him) would rinse his mouth and sniff water into his nose separately.
Yahya al-Qattan rejected this hadith, and Sufyan bin Uyaynah also rejected it and found it strange that the grandfather of Talhah had met the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Yahya bin Ma'in said: The hadith scholars say that he saw him, while the family of Talhah say that he was not a Companion.
