Bayhaqi 2325 — Placing the right hand on the left in prayer

وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْعَنَزِيُّ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ رَجَاءٍ، ثنا زَائِدَةُ، ثنا عَاصِمُ بْنُ كُلَيْبٍ الْجَرْمِيُّ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي أَنَّ وَائِلَ بْنَ حُجْرٍ، أَخْبَرَهُ قَالَ: قُلْتُ: لَأَنْظُرَنَّ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَيْفَ يُصَلِّي قَالَ: فَنَظَرْتُ إِلَيْهِ " قَامَ وَكَبَّرَ وَرَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ حَتَّى حَاذَتَا بِأُذُنَيْهِ، ثُمَّ وَضَعَ يَدَهُ الْيُمْنَى عَلَى ظَهْرِ كَفِّهِ الْيُسْرَى، وَالرُّسْغِ مِنَ السَّاعِدِ ".
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Wa'il bin Hujr (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I thought to myself: I will certainly watch the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) to see how he (peace and blessings be upon him) performs the prayer. I looked at him (peace and blessings be upon him): he (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up, said the takbir and raised his hands up to his ears, then placed his right hand on the back of his left palm, the wrist and the forearm.
