(a) It is narrated from Abu Qilabah that he saw Malik bin al-Huwayrith (may Allah be pleased with him) praying: first he said the takbir, then raised his hands; and when he was about to bow, he raised his hands; and when he raised his head from bowing, he raised his hands; and he said: "the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to do this."
(b) In another hadith, Ishaq bin Shahin al-Wasiti transmits from Khalid bin Abdullah: "When he (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed, he would say the takbir and raise his hands."
(c) The narrations which indicate that raising the hands is together with the takbir are more established and greater in number. For this reason they are more worthy of being followed. And success is from Allah.
