Bayhaqi 2301 — Raising the hands at the takbir in prayer

Salim bin Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from his father (Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): when he began the prayer, he would raise his hands up to the level of his shoulders; and when he bowed, and when he raised his head from bowing, he would again raise his hands up to the level of his shoulders; but he did not do so in the prostrations.
