Ibn Abi Namlah narrates from his father (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I was with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when a Jewish man came to him (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)! Can this funeral (the deceased) speak? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty knows best." The Jew said: I bear witness that this deceased will speak. So he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whatever the People of the Book tell you, neither affirm it nor deny it; (only say:) 'Amanna billahi wa kutubihi wa rusulihi' (We believe in Allah, His Books and His Messengers). If what they say is true (right), you will not have denied it, and if what they say is false, you will not have affirmed it."
