أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدَانَ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الصَّفَّارُ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ غَالِبٍ، ثنا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ حَازِمٍ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِنَافِعٍ: أَكَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يُوتِرُ عَلَى الرَّاحِلَةِ؟ قَالَ: وَهَلْ لِلْوَتْرِ فَضِيلَةٌ عَلَى سَائِرِ التَّطَوُّعِ؟ " إِي وَاللهِ لَقَدْ كَانَ يُوتِرُ عَلَيْهَا ".
It is narrated from Jarir bin Hazim (may Allah have mercy on him) that he said: I asked Nafi' (may Allah have mercy on him): Did Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) use to pray witr on the mount? He said: Does witr have any superiority over all the other voluntary prayers? By Allah! He used to offer witr on the mount.
