Bayhaqi 21463 — Reports on the defect of a hadith narrated from Tamim

Imam al-Shafi'i (may Allah have mercy on him) said about this hadith: "It is not established. It is narrated only by Abd al-Aziz bin Umar, from Ibn Mawhab, from Tamim al-Dari (may Allah be pleased with him), and Ibn Mawhab is not known to us, nor do we know that he met Tamim. Something like this is not established, neither with us nor with you, because he is unknown (majhul), and I do not know it to be connected (muttasil)."
